Tooling compensation is a term that refers to a procedure which allows for a balancer to null out eccentricity between a workpiece and mating tooling and tooling unbalance. Typically, tooling compensation is performed when switching from one part to another, or once a day if running the same part for an extended period of time. Depending on the application and customer preference, tooling compensations can be as simple as a 2 step procedure.
